How to Join the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PARLIAMENTARIANS^® (NAP):

1. There is a membership quiz you must pass to become a member of NAP. It has 40 questions based on chapters 1 -11 of the second edition of Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised in Brief. (RONRIB). A minimum score of 70% is required. You will definitely need to get a copy of RONRIB, which can be purchased on line at Amazon or RobertRules.com.

   NOTE: This quiz is a requirement for membership in the National & State associations, but is it not a credentialling exam.   It does not "certify" the member as a credentialed parliamentarian.   Successful completion of this quiz is only the first step for those preparing for the exam to become credentialled as an RP (Registered Parliamentarian).

2. The membership application will specify a paper or an online version. You may download the appropriate form from the application page of the NAP website, or you may request it from NAP Headquarters.

3. Many of our Unit members are ready to help you study for this quiz as well as be available to serve as your proctor. Contact our President, Vice President or the Chair of our Membership Committee on our "Officers" page, and, if you are interested, come to a local unit meeting and meet our members. We enjoy seeing new faces and invite all to attend. .

4. There is no time limit for the quiz, but the average time it takes to complete this quiz is less than 30 minutes. The proctor will then seal your test and sends it back to NAP. You should hear the results within a few weeks!
